Last Day of School!!!!

Last day of school was last Thursday, the 5th. As you can see, it was hot!!! Sam and Josh's classes went to Stoutenburg Park. They had different stations to go to. It went great except for the fact that the drinking fountain didn't work and all they had was one juice box for each kid. There were some thirsty kids!!

Below is Lance, one of the kids I babysit and Sam and Josh's friend.
Above is Josh and he's had enough. He was miserable!!!

No, Matthew did not just get out of the pool. That is sweat and lots of it. All the second graders went to Jaycee Park near the school. They had about 20 stations to go to and man, it was hot!! I'm so glad I didn't volunteer because it was nice only staying for a little bit to get my pictures and be able to go back in the air conditioned car :) Yes, I'm a baby.

Above is his friend Jacob and below is another friend, Payton. Payton had sweat with a mixture of soap bubbles on his face. I don't think he cared.

Awards Night for Ben...I couldn't be more proud

I can't tell you how proud I was of Ben last Thursday. You'll have to double click the picture to see the awards, but there is one that I want to talk about. He received a Leadership Award for being a leader, making good decisions, having good grades, etc. The Principal went through about 7 different prerequisites for the award and I'm thinking to myself, "Ben should get this award because he has all these qualities". And he did. Not to gloat or anything, but I take full credit for his accomplishments :) That's just plain hilarious!

God has truly blessed me with a great kid!!!

This is Ben's Principal and one of his friends. It was a great evening.

Memorial Day Party at the Johnson's

Here's some of the grandkids. Is Josh a goof ball or is it just me?

Again, look closely and you will see Josh.

Who's the crazy guy who crashed the party?

Jade just had to do the extra credit. That'll teach ya!! You over-achiever :) Jade has informed us all that she will NEVER have kids. I once thought that too and look at me now.

What is it with Matthew, always having to be in the picture? It was a great day. The rain stayed away. No one got hurt except for a few beanbags in the face and a couple dodgeball incidents :)

Savannah Baseball Tourney

Here's everyone! Just in case you can't tell, Ben is in the front, far right. You can double click the picture to see it better. If you look on the left, you can see Matthew's backside...nice. He just had to get in the picture :)

Eric and Ben...what a great picture. Eric is one of the assistant coaches. He's great with the kids.

They ended up in 3rd place. It was a great tourney, they had trophies for the top 4 teams.

Here's our 3rd place celebration...the coach only gets one beer poured over his head. I really think no one wanted to waste the beer and he was lucky to even get something poured over his head.

Coach Roth does a fine job with these boys. I am very proud of Ben and his teammates.

Can you say Park Rats? I had to scrub Josh's head twice to get the dirt off.

Josh
There was a park to play at and 2 huge dirt piles. What more could a boy ask for?

Nice

Sam with a Gatorade mustache

Matthew wasn't as bad as Sam and Josh.

Now everyone pretend it is Monday, May 19th...Happy Birthday Matthew!!

Matthew was born on May 19th, 2000 at 5:02pm. What a birthday he has had. He had 3 friends over Friday night. We went and saw "Ironman", which is perfect for 8 year old boys. Needless to say, they were a little crazy afterwards. There will be some pictures of all of them dressed up. It's quite comical. To top off the evening, they watched "Transformers" before they FINALLY went to sleep around 1am.

On Sunday, we stayed overnight at Kalahari. It was lots of fun, but man, am I tired. We swam from 12 noon on Sunday until 9pm and then 9am to 3pm on Monday. We had so much fun. BJ, Alex, and Jackson were there too. Alex and I had discounted rooms because we walked in the "Asthma Walk".

Goodbye My Mia...

Had to put down my beloved kitty on May 5th...well, she was 13 so I guess you couldn't say kitty. It was very sad. I probably should have done it a lot sooner, but I was selfish. She was my lap cat. Here are some things I will miss...

She would follow me around and wait for me to sit so she could sit on my lap or on my hip if I was laying down.
She would play fetch with a wad of paper. She would literally put the "ball" in her mouth and drop it at my feet.
She was my bug catcher. Flies didn't stand a chance in our house.
When you would say "Pretty Girl", she would roll around on her back and show off her belly. Oh, she knew.
When she was little, she would come into the bathroom to "socialize" and nibble on my toes. I literally had to wear socks or hide my toes from her.

We have two other cats, Ella and ZoeBelle. ZoeBelle is an outside cat (well, not anymore, will explain later). A friend of mine was taking care of Zoe and moved. She wanted to make sure she was taken care of so she dropped Zoe off at our house. Well, ZoeBelle adopted us and we fell in love with her. After much persuasion, we were able to bring her in the house on May 15th. ZoeBelle came into our lives about a week before Mia died and I feel it was meant to be. She is such a lovable cat. It has made things alot easier for me. I still miss Mia though.
